The Notebook is participating for a fourth year in the nationwide NewsMatch campaign, the largest grassroots fundraiser to support nonprofit news organizations. The campaign will match donations to nonprofit newsrooms across the country through Dec. 31.

Notebook readers can make a one-time donation or start a new monthly gift online at http://weblink.donorperfect.com/Yearendcampaign. Monthly gifts will be matched 12 times, and one-time donations will be doubled (up to $1,000 each) by the NewsMatch campaign.

NewsMatch is designed to help fuel a surge in giving to local investigative reporting and strengthen nonprofit newsrooms through training and shared resources. The Notebook will use the funding to support our daily news coverage of issues such as the effort to repair aging and hazardous school buildings and the District’s new Comprehensive School Planning Review.

This campaign is the Notebook’s largest annual fundraiser and is crucial to our ability to continue our reporting through the spring.

NewsMatch is led by the Institute for Nonprofit News and the News Revenue Hub, two organizations helping build more sustainable models for journalism in America. Last year, the campaign helped 154 newsrooms raise $7.6 million.
