The District wants you to Ring the Bell on Monday

It's this Monday, folks. August 27. School starts. Be there.

In anticipation of the new earlier start to the school year, the District has started #RingTheBellPHL on Twitter.

To ensure that nobody forgets when school starts – for the first time in memory, the Monday before Labor Day – District Superintendent William Hite, Mayor Kenney, Board of Education President Joyce Wilkerson, and members of City Council will visit Luis Muñoz Marin Elementary School at 7:45 a.m. Monday to ring the bell.

The mayor and superintendent traditionally visit a school on the District’s first day.

Later that day, Hite and others will visit Kensington Health Sciences Academy and Webster Elementary.

The District also hopes that all Philadelphians will join the mayor and superintendent and “ring a bell.”
