The future of the School Reform Commission has caused great debate. In fact, many education advocates, parents, and others are asking whether it’s time to dissolve the five-member appointed panel, perhaps in favor of an elected school board and more local control. The big question has become: Who should run Philadelphia’s schools?

SRC Commissioner Bill Green and City Councilwoman-at-large Helen Gym debated the pros and cons of the SRC, its future, and other models of school governance today on Radio Times with Marty Moss-Coane. If you missed the live broadcast today at 10 a.m., you can still listen to the audio online, which will be available at 1 p.m.
