Fund drive extended as we near our goal

This article was originally published in The Notebook. In August 2020, The Notebook became Chalkbeat Philadelphia.

The Notebook‘s June fundraising campaign, which launched at our annual celebration on June 9, has been extended with the goal of reaching $45,000. We raised more than $37,000 in June – more than 80 percent of our goal – making it our best month ever for individual donations. We are confident that we can achieve our goal with the help of our readers.

The Notebook staff and board of directors extend our deepest thanks to the 215 people who have contributed to the drive so far. We are especially grateful to the dozens of contributors for whom this was their second, third, or even fourth gift to the Notebook this year. And we could not have been this successful without the generosity of the Notebook board member who offered to match the first $10,000 raised from this campaign.

We are extending the drive into July to raise the additional $8,000 we need. If you are a Notebook reader and have not contributed, we urge you to do so today. We depend on your support to continue bringing you high-quality stories about your public schools every day online and in print during the school year.
