Save the dates: High school fair is this weekend

This article was originally published in The Notebook. In August 2020, The Notebook became Chalkbeat Philadelphia.

The annual Philadelphia High School Fair will be held Friday and Saturday (Oct. 17 and 18) at the Armory at Drexel University on North 33rd Street, between Market and Cuthbert Streets.

More than 100 high schools from across the city will have booths that families, students, and caregivers can go to for information about school programs, extracurricular activities, admissions criteria, and how to apply.

District, charter, and private schools will be represented at the fair, which will run from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The Notebook will have a table there, and we’ll be there to talk and pass out copies of our annual Fall Guide to High Schools. The guide contains valuable information about the city’s 90 public high school options. Look for our booth and folks wearing bright Notebook T-shirts inside the armory for a copy of the guide.

The expo is presented by Great Philly Schools and is designed for 7th and 8th graders, as well as high school students who may want to transfer.

For more information about the fair, visit the Philly High School Fair website.
