The School Reform Commission is scheduled to vote tonight on charter renewals. Sixteen schools in all are seeking to renew their charters but only six are on the final agenda for a vote. Two schools, Discovery and Imani, were recommended by the District for charter revocation. But Discovery has reportedly struck a deal to resolve its dispute with the District, prompting the District to withdraw its non-renewal recommendation.

The District also was scheduled to announce the pairings of the new cohort of Renaissance schools (Alcorn, Kenderton, Pastorius) with charter operators that will take over their management. But only two of the three pairings are on the final agenda for an SRC vote: Pastorius with Mastery Charter Schools and Kenderton with Scholar Academies. There is no resolution on Alcorn; Universal Companies was the presumed favorite to take over management there because it operates other schools in the neighborhood..

The meeting got underway just after 5:30 p.m. with a series of presentations recognizing students and staff.
