Last Notebook happy hour of the school year

This article was originally published in The Notebook. In August 2020, The Notebook became Chalkbeat Philadelphia.

Please join us for a happy hour on May 18 to celebrate the release of our Summer edition and to welcome colleagues from across the country who will be in town for the Education Writers Association’s national conference.

It has been quite a year for public schools in Philadelphia! And in the midst of everything that’s going on, seniors will be celebrating their last days of high school and getting ready to graduate. But where will they go? Will having a college education really give them a boost in the current economy? These and many more questions are raised and addressed in the upcoming Summer 2012 print edition of the Notebook.

As usual, we look forward to seeing old and new friends at our gathering to discuss education coverage and news about education in Philly.

The happy hour coincides with the EWA conference being held at the University of Pennsylvania. We hope to connect with some of the 250 journalists and others in attendance from across the country. The EWA National Seminar is the country’s premier conference for those working at the intersection of education and journalism.

Hope to see you next week!

When: Friday May 18, 2012
Time: 6:30 – 9 p.m.
Where: City Tap House, 3925 Walnut St.

Raffle and drink special for members of the Notebook and attendees of the EWA conference. Please RSVP to help us estimate attendance.
