EDDY Awards to honor mayor’s education chief and others

The EDDY Awards ceremony, which celebrates the notable work of Philadelphians in public education, will be tonight at WHYY, 150 N. Sixth St.

The honorees include Pennsylvania’s first Black district attorney, Mayor Nutter’s Chief Education Officer Lori Shorr, the former chair of Drexel’s board of trustees, and a teen who returned to school to become a star student, class president, and prom king.
