Schools, their principals and divisions for 2011-12

This article was originally published in The Notebook. In August 2020, The Notebook became Chalkbeat Philadelphia.

The School District has provided an updated list (XLS, PDF) of schools, their principals, and what academic division and assistant superintendent they are assigned to for the coming school year.

Some of the key changes:

  • There’s been some significant reshuffling among regional superintendents. The new ones are Linda Chen, Lissa Johnson, Joel Boyd, and Karen Kolsky.
  • There are still nine divisions, but there is no longer a middle school division; those schools are folded in with their neighborhood elementary schools. What’s new is a division for Renaissance charter schools. The Promise Academies that were recently cut from the program have been restored to their former division.
  • More than 60 schools have new principals.

We welcome your observations and comments about other changes.
