Two more days: Turn up the heat!

This article was originally published in The Notebook. In August 2020, The Notebook became Chalkbeat Philadelphia.

Since we launched our membership matching gift campaign on May 31, we have received a warm response, with contributions from more than 60 90 readers.

With just one week 4 3 2 days left till the deadline on our match and $3,500 $2,500 $1,600 $1,240 $810 more to raise, we’re hoping you’ll help us turn up the heat in our drive to raise our goal of $8,000.

In case you missed it, a generous donor will match us dollar for dollar every new, renewed, and upgraded membership we bring in this month, up to a total of $8,000. That’s a potential $16,000 that you can help us raise and put toward invaluable journalism for quality public education.

Our membership program, now in its third year, is a way to recognize your support, connect everyone in our reader community, and give contributors some added perks. Most of all, our members represent an active community of support for the Notebook as an information source, a space for constructive dialogue, and a voice for teachers, students, and parents who are committed to improving public schools.

“Three years ago the Notebook took the step of creating a membership program. … We realized that while our distribution model is free, the reality is that, like me, our readers value the Notebook. Becoming a member is the way to show this; it is the way to invest in the Notebook’s future.” – Harold Jordan, parent, Notebook reader, chair of Notebook Leadership Board
