Comcast Cares Day

This article was originally published in The Notebook. In August 2020, The Notebook became Chalkbeat Philadelphia.

Adam Hicks, who stars in the Disney Channel movie "Lemonade Mouth," painted a mural with students at Fairhill Elementary School in North Philadelphia as part of the 10th Comcast Cares Day on April 30. Fairhill was beautified by more than 500 volunteers, who cleaned the school’s grounds, planted trees, mulched, painted classrooms, and upgraded the gym. Since the first Comcast Cares Day in 2001, over two million hours and $10 million have been contributed nationally through this annual corporate volunteer effort.
