Save the date! Notebook event is June 7

This article was originally published in The Notebook. In August 2020, The Notebook became Chalkbeat Philadelphia.

The Notebook‘s annual June fundraiser is happening June 7! We hope that you’ll be able to join us for what is an energizing and fun annual tradition.

This year’s "Turning the Page for Change" celebration will take place from 4:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 7 at the University of the Arts. You can purchase admission to the event today – or sign up to be on our host committee.

As always, we can promise you a great party with lots of good food and drink, fun and conversation, music and inspiration, and our annual student journalism awards. This has been an exciting year of growth for the Notebook, on its website, in our content partnerships, and in the number of members who support us. At the close of another school year, this is an opportunity for all of us to come together and celebrate. We really are growing our knowledge and growing our connections.

There is lots to do on planning the event, and we can also use your help with that! If you would like to join our event planning committee, please email us. We can use help with logistics, outreach, fundraising, decorating, and more. Event planning committee members attend regular meetings over the next two months and assist with work between meetings. Mary Ann Smith and Fred Farlino are serving as committee co-chairs again this year.

We’re marking 17 years of publishing, and with your help, we look forward to at least 17 more!

Reserve your spot today. See you on June 7.
