Happy hour celebrates new edition of Notebook

Thank you to everyone who attended our first edition-launch happy hour at the National Mechanics bar!

In a casual, after-work atmosphere we celebrated the Notebook‘s December edition and enjoyed great conversations. About 50 of our readers, friends, supporters, staff, and leadership board members attended. We even made some new friends, including three completely new members.

We raffled off some cool gifts: a gardening gift basket went to Philadelphia Student Union staff member Fred Pinguel, and lunch with award-winning Notebook Contributing Editor Dale Mezzacappa went to JoAnn Weinberger of the Center for Literacy.

More photos of the event will be posted in the coming days on our Facebook page. Big thanks to our friends at the National Mechanics bar for use of their great space, provision of delicious snacks, and an overall welcoming presence.

We are really looking forward to making this happy hour a recurring one, so stay tuned for upcoming dates in 2012.

Thanks again for joining the Notebook community and helping us create a new and exciting tradition! Happy holidays.
