It looks like the state Senate is at long last ready to move on the nomination of Pedro Ramos to the School Reform Commission.

The office of Jeffrey Piccola, chair of the Senate Education Committee, confirmed that there is a hearing scheduled on Monday for Ramos, who was named by Gov. Corbett in June.

This is the last possible day the nomination could be considered under the requirement that gubernatorial appointees be considered within 25 session days.

It is still unclear whether Feather Houstoun’s nomination will also be considered then – apparently, her name has yet to move out of the Rules Committee. Houstoun was nominated in mid-October.

We’ll update this as more information becomes available.
